Born Curtis Jackson, 50 Cent is a true man of the streets, familiar with its codes and violence. He was born into a notorious Queens drug dynamic and lost those closest to him at a very young age. He started rapping early on, but did not decide to go about it seriuosly until the birth of his son, first signing with JMJ, then with Columbia Records to make his name known. In 1999, 50 was dropped from Columbia, however, during recovery after being shot infront of his grandmother's house 9 times! 50 did not give up, he soon was backed by G-Unit and signed on to work with Eminem and Dr. Dre. 50 is the most saught after newcomer in almost a decade, producing many albums and touring for packed houses of adoring fans!
